Company Overview

Tompkins Consulting Companies, Inc. is the parent organization for two distinctly different consulting practices. We are privately held companies located in Portland, and Bend, Oregon, and have been in existence for more than 10 years.

Tompkins Benefit Group, Inc. provides employee benefit plan consultation and service for employers in the Pacific Northwest ranging in size from 10 to 2,000 employees. Providing customized brokerage and consulting services means designing, implementing, and managing your employee benefit plans.

We understand how plans work, how to be good stewards of your company’s benefit dollars, and how to design a plan customized to your culture and affordable for both you and your employees.

We provide competitive market analysis, financial analysis using actuaries located in both Portland and Bend, Oregon, and benefit benchmarking to best design the plan suited for your organization’s needs and that of your employees. To say it as succinctly as possible, we give you choices.

Once the plan has been implemented it is time to take care of those employees and dependents insured under the plan. Tompkins Benefit Group, Inc. provides strong advocacy on behalf of your organization and your employees and their families. All with an eye for confidentiality and one-on-one service.

Tompkins HR Group, Inc. provides human resources consultative services. Organizations can achieve significant advantages from outsourcing HR functions. Our Philosophy Towards Compensation

Our philosophy is simple: first and foremost, our loyalty is to our clients. If we operate on a consulting basis, we do not accept commissions of any kind. If we operate on a commission basis, we do not accept consulting fees of any kind.

We also do not accept contingent commissions, broker awards, trips, production bonuses or any other form of compensation from the insurance carriers that would be deemed above and beyond the regular commission or consulting fees received. We even turn down all of those Beaver and Duck football tickets!

Since our reason for being is to be of service to others relating to their employee benefit plans and their human resource needs, compensation comes second.

Stewardship

We believe we have a responsibility to give back to our community. This means that as our company continues to be successful, we are bound to return a portion of that success to others in the form of time and/or financial contributions. A healthy, safe and caring community doesn't just happen — it is nurtured by the people who live and work there.
